The gold hunt
If you’ve decided to sell your gold, here’s how to get ready. The best place to start is the bottom of your jewellery drawer, where you can find those long-forgotten pieces. Whether your gold is broken, dented, scratched, or in parts, that doesn’t matter to us. The old gold earrings, or snapped curb bracelet you never got round to fixing can still be worth more than you expect when sold for its gold value.
If the object is made from solid gold at any purity, we will buy it!
Preparing your gold for sale
As mentioned previously, the condition of your gold does not matter when coming to sell at Cheshire Gold Xchange. We would recommend that you lightly clean the items before bringing them in so that any hallmarks can be easily read.
We don't pay out on gemstones, it can speed up the selling process to remove any gemstones from the item prior to visiting our store. However, this is not essential and the gemstones will be removed before weighing your gold so they don’t affect the overall weight. When selling scrap gold, the value for us is held in the gold alloy. So any stones, rubies or diamonds can be removed and will not affect our purchase price.
What to bring with you
There are a couple of things to bring to ensure a quick, efficient sale at Cheshire Gold Xchange.
- Valid photo ID (anti-money-laundering compliance).
- Your bank account details if you prefer a bank transfer.
- The items you want to sell, kept together in a small bag or box.
- Any original paperwork or proof of purchase you have to confirm authenticity (not essential).
We buy all gold purities
You may have been told to always check your gold jewellery for hallmarks. These can be very challenging to locate at times, especially if the metal is of significant age. Dirt and dust can build up in the stamp, making it difficult to decipher, even with a jeweller's loupe.
It is not necessary for you to know your gold purity when bringing it to us. We have testing apparatus and non-destructive testing methods that can give us a accurate carat/purity. You can also sell gold without hallmarks at Cheshire Gold Xchange.
The Money Is Yours
Once we have identified the quality of gold and weighed your items we will provide you with an on-the-spot cash offer that is based on the current market rate of gold (the spot price). The whole process of selling your gold at our Warrington store should take no longer than five minutes after the purity has been established.
If you are happy with our offer for your gold then we can pay you in cash (subject to limits) or by immediate bank transfer payment.
As always there is no obligation for you to complete the sale of your old gold. If you are unsure about the offer provided then you can decline and take some time to think over the price, and obtain comparisons.
If you are looking for an honest, friendly environment to sell your scrap gold then visit us at our Warrington store or order your online gold selling pack today.
